About Us

TCLM University came from a necessity of truth seeking. We firmly believe that seeking the truth comes from the human's innate desire to pursue happiness. While there are many books, media, and online programs out there, we see that the world is full of conflicting information, complexity, and confusion. 

Our approach is simple: We model after success.

This means that success comes from learning from our patients who have walked through the complex journeys of dominating their health. They've been through the motions and emotions of creating the best health and wellness for themselves.

TCLM University is founded on the principles at Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine in Houston, TX. 

We are a group of dedicated individuals who are creating the operating system for integrative and functional medicine to exist in a world where what we do is going against the grain.

In 2017. Dr. Cheng Ruan saw that functional medicine business models were mostly cash based and often was offered outside of traditional health insurance models. However, the people who needed the model the most were the people who can't afford it. A new and affordable model has to be created. 

TCLM University is the educational center where all can access our fundamental principles globally. This is started in 2020 and is designed to put the "doctor" back into the meaning of the original world in which it stems from "docere" which is latin for teacher.
