Practitioner Spotlight: Carla Moss, Health and Wellness Coach

Introducing Carla Moss, one of our passionate Health Coaches for our Transformational Group Coaching Programs! Carla Moss is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach who has been health coaching since 2012. She is the founder of Being Well Aware, her functional medicine health coaching practice based in Berkeley, California. Through her practice, Carla coaches women navigating cardio-metabolic issues, gut issues, and autoimmune conditions, along with hormone imbalances such as PCOS, adrenal dysfunction, thyroid dysfunction, estrogen dominance, peri-menopause, and menopause.

  

Carla received her health coaching training and certification from The Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, a collaboration with The Institute for Functional Medicine, the Institute of Transformational Nutrition, and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She also received specialty certifications in Hormone Health and Emotional Eating Psychology and is trained in several disciplines including positive psychology, motivational interviewing, habit formation and reversal to support clients in making lasting changes.

 

Her desire to help others achieve their health goals and overcome challenging mental blocks that are keeping them from living healthy lives stems from her own health journey. She struggled with hormone imbalances, causing a lot of pain and inflammation, as well as fibroids, which has led to her eagerness to learn more about the root causes of hormone issues in women. While going through perimenopause, and experiencing the mood changes, weight fluctuations, and sleep disturbances that come with it, she dove deep into functional and integrative wellness training to learn tools in order to heal herself and others.

 

She finds joy in using her former struggles to encourage others dealing with similar issues and guide them on their journey of wellness with tools she wished she had available while going through it herself. She has been able to improve her health tremendously through working on her sleep health, gut health, and establishing routines and healthy eating habits that support detoxification and hormone balance. Carla works to guide women and members of our group programs, so that they can live their healthiest, highest-quality lives. While she has a plethora of knowledge and tools related to nutrition and lifestyle habits, she is aware that the most challenging part of the health journey is discovering how to implement those tools.

 

Therefore, she loves coaching within the Group Transformational Programs, as they dive deep into the behavior modification aspects and provide the tools and support needed to put action behind the mission of achieving better health. Carla brings so much enthusiasm, knowledge, and understanding to the group visits.

 

Carla Moss is an incredible asset to our Transformational Group Coaching Programs. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience that she brings with her every session, along with the enthusiasm and understanding needed to help our members achieve their health goals. Her desire to support others on their journey of wellness stems from her own struggles, giving her unique insight into how best to guide clients through challenging mental blocks. We are incredibly lucky have such an amazing coach as part of our team!
