Get to know Melissa Talwar, our compassionate and dedicated health coach who leads the virtual Trasformational Group Coaching Programs at TCLM. Melissa is a National Board Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, Certified in the Wahls Protocol, Keto Nutritionist, and Certified ReCODE 2.0 Health Coach. She recently completed her Master's in Neuroscience and is currently enrolled in the Clinical Master's Program at the Kharrazian institute. After multiple concussions and a sports injury in high school, she was left in chronic debilitating pain. Melissa would spend 20 years in declining health, homebound, and living with no hope of addressing her fibromyalgia and "autoimmune something" diagnoses. Using Functional and Integrative Medicine principles she was able to reclaim her health and is now on a mission to empower patients to find wellness again through health coaching. Melissa wants to make sure no one has to fight alone!
She is passionate about sharing the tools that have helped her tremendously in her ongoing health journey, such as nutrition, intentional movement, stress management, sleep hygiene, and more. Reflecting on her journey to this point, Melissa is astonished that she could reach such a high level of health. She is grateful for the progress she has made, but realizes that she must continue practicing the habits that allow her to maintain her health. Therefore, she empathetically guides patients through making positive behavioral changes to support their goals. Her favorite aspect about the coaching groups is the ability for everyone to learn from one another, as she too recognizes that she is also a work in progress. Sharing the journey with like-minded individuals is such a joy for her.
Melissa spends most of her time coaching and taking part in volunteer work to raise awareness and funding for chronic pain and fibromyalgia health care. She enjoys connecting with medical practices who share her mission, as well as raising awareness to government, public health, and medical organizations. When she is not coaching, completing course work, or participating in volunteer opportunities, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her dog, Toby!
She has big plans for her future and career goals, which include bring major awareness to health communities, possibly completing more health education, and continuing to engage in non-profit organizations. We are so grateful to welcome Melissa to our health coaching team! We are inspired by her devotion to patient care and passion for raising awareness for those suffering from chronic pain and fibromyalgia, She has committed her time and energy to developing a deep understanding of the sciences behind these conditions, so that she can share her knowledge with others in need. We hope you have an opportunity to get to know Melissa and to learn the plethora of tools she has to offer!
