One of our favorite Mind-Body session in the clinic is our Tai Chi class. Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that has been practiced for centuries and offers numerous physical, mental, and emotional health benefits. It combines slow and gentle movements with deep breathing techniques that help to reduce stress levels, improve balance, increase flexibility, build strength, and boost overall well-being. Intentional movement allows the body to connect to the mind, offering a drastic decrease in stress response, an ability to ground oneself, and an increased level of self-awareness. We have seen firsthand the drastic impacts of even a short Tai Chi session, especially due to its ability to drastically decrease blood pressure and anxiety.


At Geny Moreno's Mind-Body Medicine group visits, we believe participants will enjoy the profound healing benefits on both physical and psychological levels. Tai Chi is one of the main tools that mind-body medicine has to offer. Many ask us if Tai Chi requires a tremendous amount of physical effort or muscle tone. We love encouraging all of our members to give it a try, as it offers just enough movement to reap powerful benefits but not so much that you may risk injury i you have not engaged in activity in quite some time or have a limited range of motion. In fact, Tai Chi is such a great place to start a journey toward physical activity. It may help you build resilience, improve coordination and spatial perception, as well as improve balance.
